Narrative text is a type of text in English to tell a story that has a series of chronological events that are interconnected. The purpose of this text is to entertain the reader about a story or story.

Use Action Verb in the form of Past Tenses.
Use certain nouns as people pronouns.
Using Adjectives that make up Noun Phrase.
Use Conjunction to sort events.

The structure of the narrative text focuses on a series of stages proposed to construct this text itself. In general, there are four stages in Narrative text, namely:
Orientation
Orientation or commonly called preliminary, contains about who, when, where a story is set.
Complication
Complication tells the beginning of the problem that causes the peak of the problem or commonly called the climax. This part usually involves the main character of the story.
Resolution
This section is the end of the story or in the form of a solution to the problem that occurred. Problems can be solved can be better or even worse which will later make the story happily end or vice versa.
Sometimes, there are resolutions that are in the form of other problems to solve. This is intentionally made by the writer to add and maintain interest and tension for the reader. Usually, this type of resolution is in the mysteries and horror genres.
Re-orientation
The part is the closing of an optional story. Re-orientation can contain moral lessons, suggestions or teachings from the author.
ISSUMBOSHI
Once upon a time, there was a old couple who lived in a small house near the village, but they didn’t have a child until half of century. They asked to God everyday so their wish would be granted.One day, from the household Shinto altar, they heard a voice of a baby who was crying. They looked at that baby and suddenly they were hit by lightning because that baby just like a little finger. After that, They called their baby ’Issumboshi’.They kept him so well even everytime they had was just for Issumboshi. They fed him sincerely, but he was not getting bigger.Due to his lack, he was always bullied by children of the village. “Hey, Issumboshi, do you want to be eaten by frog ?”, children said. They thought ‘Issumboshi’ meant ‘puny’ and they laughed at him.One day, Issumboshi said that he would go to the Capital City and became a respectable person. His grandparent were worried about him due to his small body but Issumboshi would never change his decision. So they approved his decision and began preparing whatever he needed for his trip.Issumboshi sheathed a needle sword in a straw case, put on a cup of sedge hat, and started out with a chopstick staff, in high spirits. He went out for a trip with a big wish in a small body. He had defeated his small body with big wish. Finally, he reached the Capital City and anchored under the bridge. Then he climbed up to railing and viewed the town.
Issumboshi wanted to meet with The Feudal Lord. When The Feudal Lord stepped out of his room, he asked who there was. He was surprised to see how small Issumboshi was. Then, Issumboshi wanted to be employed by The Feudal Lord. But, The Feudal Lord were worried due to his circumstance. Suddenly , there was a bee buzzing by and Issumboshi stabbed it. The Feudal Lord were impressed for what Issumboshi did and he was employed. Issumboshi were tasked to protect his princess and Princess liked Issumboshi so much and she taught him reading, writing and others.
One day, the princess went out and to worship at the Kiyomizu Temple. Suddenly, there was strong wind and some demons appeared. The leader of the demons tried to grab her. Issumboshi tried to help her but he was caught by the demons and he was swallowed. And then, he could get away from his death and jumped at the demon and stabbed demons’ eyes. There were still many demons, and they ran away in hurry. But, there was a demon left and trembled while holding the magic hammer. That demon said that the magic hammer could grant Issumboshi’s wish so he gave it to Issumboshi. Then, that demon was let go by Issumboshi. Then, Issumboshi gave it to Princess and asked her to wave the magic hammer and make a wish that Issumboshi might become big. Wow!!! Issumboshi became bigger and bigger. The last, he grew into a young man. He and the princess went back to palace. The princess asked the King to let her marry with Issumboshi and underwent their life together. They finally got married and Issumboshi’s granparents were invited to live in the Palace.
